Buffalo Hospital, located on the western edge of the Twin Cities metro area in Buffalo, Minn., offers high quality, personal care in private rooms and provides many specialty services, including the Birth Center, Cardiac Center, Emergency Services, Sleep Center, Phillips Eye Institute, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation InstituteTM and Virginia Piper Cancer Institute.

• This position exists to obtain images with the use of CT and general imaging equipment while exposing the patient, self and others to the minimal amount of radiation possible (ALARA)
• Assists radiologists and other physicians with procedures
• Supports reception and clerical positions whenever possible

• Graduate of an ARRT accredited radiology program
  • CT certification preferred

Experience

• Experience to include general radiography, fluoroscopy and OR imaging.
• CT experience preferred

Skills

• Proficiently perform all CT and General Radiology imaging/procedures, patient screening and prep, start IV as needed, EMR documentation, Image QC and other related duties
• Successfully operate standard radiographic and office equipment
• Operate CT scanners for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images and perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images while maintaining ALARA
• Operate and administer contrast via injectors or hand injections
• Ability to look for, identify and respond appropriatly to possible contrast reaction
• Prepare patient data for interpretation by physician
• Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity
• Perform general diagnosic exams
• Ability to flex from one modality to another within the shift is required
• Must have skills that result in consistent accuracy in all aspects of patient care and product
• Skills to support both independent and team work
• Multitasking and organizational skills
• Demonstrated computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Office
• Dependable
• Assigned call shifts require a 45 minute availability time to arrive

Licensure/Certifications

• Registry in Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
• Registration for CT certification is required upon hire or within 2 years of hire
• BLS required
