Cambridge Medical Center, located just north of the Twin Cities metro area in Cambridge, Minn., provides comprehensive health care services in both a hospital and large multi-specialty clinic. With 800 employees, 66 physicians and 86 licensed beds, Cambridge Medical Center serves medical, surgical, specialty care, high-risk neo-natal care, substance abuse, mental health and wound care patients. Outpatient care includes same day clinic and surgery, infusion therapy, eye clinic, optical shop and retail pharmacy. Cambridge Medical Center is also a certified Virginia Piper Cancer Institute® and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute location.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares high quality food items according to standardized recipes
  • Prepares food in a timely manner to meet trayline, cafeteria or catering schedules
  • Prepares high quality food items in a manner that: maximizes nutrient quality, minimizes waste, meets temperature guidelines, is tasty and has eye appeal
  • Operates and maintains quantity food preparation equipment to prepare food items with knowledge and safety
  • Portions food attractively and accurately according to the menu
  • Monitors temperatures of hot foods and serves all hot foods at 140 or higher
  • Has completed yearly department review of fire safety,medical disaster plan, inclement weather policy, tornado, MSDS manual, AWAIR, employee right to know, infection control
  • Maintains knowledge of medical center goals related to safety/health
  • Cooks, holds, chills and reheats food items following department food safety procedures
  • Completes temperature documentation for verification of compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines
  • Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas and equipment according to daily/weekly cleaning schedules
  • Documents completion
  • Follows policies and procedures to assure adherence to food safety standards
  • Reports conditions that appear hazardous
  • Follows established safe work practices and health precautions

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Previous quantity cooking experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred

Skills

  • Able to read and write
  • Able to complete work in assigned timeframe
  • Able to prioritize tasks and complete multiple activities in assigned timeframe
  • Able to use both hands to manipulate equipment or supplies to complete work

Work Schedule

Flex 0.3 - 0.5 FTE

Every other weekend rotation
