Cambridge Medical Center, located just north of the Twin Cities metro area in Cambridge, Minn., provides comprehensive health care services in both a hospital and large multi-specialty clinic. With 800 employees, 66 physicians and 86 licensed beds, Cambridge Medical Center serves medical, surgical, specialty care, high-risk neo-natal care, substance abuse, mental health and wound care patients. Outpatient care includes same day clinic and surgery, infusion therapy, eye clinic, optical shop and retail pharmacy. Cambridge Medical Center is also a certified Virginia Piper Cancer Institute® and Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute location.

 

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling procedures
  • Preparation of patient chart materials
  • Reconciliation of patient charges
  • Receiving telephone calls, relaying messages and paging
  • Clerical duties to assist the surgical facilitator
  • Provides transport services for surgical and diagnostic patients
  • Some departmental cleaning
  • Assist nursing staff with patient care as requested.
  • Will be cross-trained to Periop.

Education

  • High school diploma
  • 1 years experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or formal training as a Health Unit Coordinator, including completion of a medical terminology class

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Data entry experience, 1 year

Skills

  • Knowledge of computer operation, data entry (including Excellian, and Reptrax systems)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to plan and organize time
  • Ability to work as a team player

Licensure/Certifications

  • Basic life support certification

Work Schedule

  • 20 hours per week
  • Day shift with variable start times, Monday - Friday
  • Evenings and weekends possible in the future
  • Local 70 contract
