Responsibilities

  • Provides quality patient treatment that is individualized and consistent with the results of evaluations and plan of care
  • Occupational Therapist involves patients, significant others and other care givers in treatment planning implementation and revision of treatment program
  • May performs evaluations on patients seen in Occupational Therapy that are thorough, efficient and patient centered
  • Results of patient assessments are used as baseline measurements to determine the kind of care required to meet a patient’s initial needs, as well as his/her needs as they change in response to care
  • Therapists record on an ongoing basis, treatment rendered, progress and changes in status relative to care
  • Working collaboratively with other medical professionals in an in-patient mental health setting

Education

  • BS, MS or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • 1+ years experience is preferred
  • Experience in mental health preferred

Skills

  • Assess age related general medical and environmental conditions and needs of clients
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function independently as an interdisciplinary team member
  • Must be adaptable and flexible willing to cross over geographic areas in time of need
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to articulate the value of the OT discipline
  • Basic computer skills

License/Certifications

  • BLS
  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Minnesota (must supply a copy of license annually to HR/Manager)

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30 on Adult Inpatient Mental Health.
