Responsibilities

Key member of development team responsible for gift entry on behalf of Allina's philanthropic entities. Manage batch work and acknowledgement letters for donors and maintains accurate data in Allina's Raiser's Edge database. Key partner in relationship between AOP and Finance.

  • Open mail, deposit checks and batch all gifts received for Courage Kenny Foundation, Phillips Eye Institute Foundation, Allina Health Hospice Foundation and Penny George Institute Foundation.

  • Send daily batches to Allina Office of Philanthropy (AOP) and Foundation teams on a daily basis to be entered into Raiser’s Edge. This includes scanning all documentation and coding the gifts for processing.

  • Ensure timely delivery of receipts. Turnaround time for receipts should be 48-72 hours from the time a gift is received.

  • Lead tribute and memorial gift program for all four clinical service line foundations. Accurately and timely send tribute cards, letters and reports to notify individuals when a tribute gift has been made. Communicate effectively with families when multiple tribute gifts are made to understand their preferences.

  • Provides leadership with Foundation Finance team and Allina Office of Philanthropy on a variety of items such as stock gifts, IRA gifts and monthly reconciliation.

  • Be a leader in understanding all ins and outs of the donor database; ability to make decisions regarding best practices for coding gifts.

  • Daily office management. Help to answer the external phone number. Be an expert with development department processes. Assist Annual Giving Manager and Courage Kenny Foundation team with various tasks as needed.

Education

  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • Required: High school graduate with 1-2 years office experience in word processing, spreadsheets and relational databases, preferably Raiser's Edge. Ability to transfer technical knowledge to database users through clear spoken and written communication.

  • 1-2 years of office experience in word processing, spreadsheets and relational databases, preferably Raiser's Edge
Skills
  • Detail oriented and extremely organized.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong relationship management expertise, including ability to communicate with multiple foundation leaders
  • Proficient in Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office and Raiser's Edge or other database experience
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

Work Schedule

M-F, standard business hours, plus occasional nights or weekends for special events.
