The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Responsibilities

  • The Hospitalist-Internal Medicine position provides general medical care for hospitalized patients
  • Serves as the physician-of-record after accepting case responsibility for a hospitalized patient from his/her primary care physician, as well as for unassigned patients from the hospital, patients referred to the hospital from communities outside the area, and patients from physicians in the community who can no longer make hospital rounds on their patients

Education

  • The position requires a Medical Doctorate degree (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Three (3) years related hospital experience which can be obtained during a residency program
Skills
  • No procedures are required for employment; performing minor surgical procedures, including paracentesis and thoracentesis are optional. Central line placements, arterial line placements, ventilator management and endotracheal intubation procedures are performed by critical care staff.

Licensure/Certifications

  • Must have current, unrestricted Minnesota State Medical Licensure
  • Must be board certified or be eligible for board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • MN License required
  • ACLS
  • BLS
