Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the reduction or elimination of hospital-acquired incidents of infection in patients and healthcare workers through the collaborative development and implementation of an effective Infection Prevention and Control program, thereby providing cost-effective quality patient care and a safe work environment for staff.

Education

  • Bachelors Required. Healthcare related degrees include BSN/MSN, BAN/MAN, MT, CLS, MPH, BS/MS Microbiology or Epidemiology, MS, MD

  • Masters Preferred.

Qualification/Skills

  • Current license or registration required if applicable to degree e.g. medical technologist, clinical laboratory scientist, physician or registered nurse.
  • Certification in Infection Control preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in acute care setting.

  • Infection Prevention experience preferred but not required.

  • If not previously completed, APIC national or state Basic Training to be completed within 1 year of hire.

  • Additionally, completion of epidemiology online course required in first month during orientation if no recent epidemiology coursework completed.

Work Schedule

40 hours a week, Monday-Friday days
Rotating after hour and weekend call
Non-Contract position
