Responsibilities

  • Establish diagnostic/care relationship with patients/family
  • Explain procedure to patient; prep patient with attention to age-specific/cultural/special needs of patient
  • Review prenatal record and patient history
  • Record qualitative and quantitative data related to fetal examination or guided procedure taking into account abnormal fetal anatomy
  • Demonstrate competence in key procedural areas: ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, PUBS, amniocentesis, and other indicated exams
  • Write preliminary findings of the documented anatomy for an organized presentation to the perinatologist
  • Obtain additional measurements as indicated for the completeness of the exam when anomalies are detected
  • Obtain results with minimal discrepancies from physician or peer-review findings
  • Ensure care is provided with respect to age-specific, cultural, ethnic or related needs
  • Maintain and organize supply levels
  • Demonstrate safe work practices
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of information and accountability for work practice

Education

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (or eligible) certified in OB/GYN ultrasound

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years Perinatal ultrasound imaging experience
  • Prefer NT certification
  • Prefer fetal echo board certification

Skills

  • Thorough understanding of fetal anatomy
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers/physicians/patients
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexibility to work at multiple sites
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Licensure/Certifications

  • RDMS
  • OB certified
  • NT certification
  • Fetal Echo board certified or willing to obtain within 1 year of hire

Work Schedule

Ability to work at any of the MN Perinatal locations.
Locations: Minneapolis, St. Paul, Woodbury, Edina and Coon Rapids

Shifts begin between 7-8am

Casual positions require availability for at least 4 shifts/month
