The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.

The Photographer Senior will bring the Allina Health brand to life by creating compelling visual content for multiple audiences and platforms. This role will partner with wide variety of requestors, subject matter experts and members of the marketing team to shoot and edit photography requests that aligns with the Allina Health brand, tone and strategic objectives.

This role is responsible for a wide variety of photography needs inclusive of shooting, editing and digital asset management. This individual will also manage vendor relationship that allow us to scale projects as appropriate.

Photography and Video Editing

  • Provides photography support for a wide variety of marketing and advertising needs. Examples include:
    • Asset Management
    • Vendor Management
    • Brands Standards Support
  • Portrait photography of executive leaders, physicians, patients and consumers.
    • Posed “in-action” patient care shots,
    • Environmental photo journalism
    • Surgical/clinical photography
    • Locations, buildings and interiors
    • Events such as galas, awards and groundbreakings
  • Supports concepting as needed.
  • Shoots content using in-house equipment and studio.
  • Contributes in all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production activities including prepping equipment.
  • Edits new and existing content including color and image correction.
  • Troubleshoots and performs routine maintenance on photo and lighting equipment. Makes recommendations for software and equipment purchases.
  • Works with project partners and creative team to ensure goals are being met.
  • Manage and organize archive of video/media. Applies taxonomy.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities associated with projects including organization of information and file processing and conversion, organization of information.
  • Support ordering and delivery of physical files.
  • Coordinates capacity planning and contingent workers/vendors as needed.
  • Makes recommendations to ensure financial stewardship by aligning the right level of vendor support to individual project requirements.
  • Works directly with vendors and manages the ongoing relationship. Ensures they receive onboarding, brand training, fulfill contract requirements and provide final deliverables including consent files, raw footage and final deliverables.
  • Monitors work product for brand consistency.
  • Understand and champions brand standards. Supports development, enhancement and maintenance of brand standards and other brand governance tools.
  • Helps create a branded, consistent look and monitors brand application on individual projects to ensure consistency and relevance across all channels of communication.
  • Provides best practice guidance and training to internal and external partners for effective visual design to raise the bar for the Allina Health visual brand identity.

Education

  • Associates degree in film, art or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualification/Skills

  • 5-8 years of experience as a photographer, preferably in a corporate or healthcare setting.

Work Schedule

40 hour work week.
