Responsibilities

  • Operate all cleaning and sterilization equipment in the department.
  • Pick supplies for case carts.
  • Wrap metal ware.
  • Has working knowledge of infection prevention and sterilization practices, principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment.
  • Requires basic computer skills

Education

  • H.S. graduate with a Sterile Processing Certificate.
  • CRCST or CBSPD Sterile Processing Certification preferred.
  • Must obtain CRCST and/or CBSPD certification within 24 months from hire date

Qualification/Skills

  • Previous Central Processing, Instrument Processing or Surgical Tech experience preferred.
  • CRCST, CBSPD Central Processing or Surg Tech certification is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand fluent English.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • High physical and mental demands necessary

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours a week
  • Day and night shifts
  • Rotation of weekend shifts
  • SEIU union
  • Benefit eligible

*** Training can take approximately 3 months and is typically scheduled on the day shift.
