Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care support and assist providers as instructed by the physician, provider or RN
  • Room patients, manage patient flow and obtain adequate patient medical information/data
  • Work the clinic Excellian inbasket, receiving and/or initiating patient phone calls and follow practice or protocol while gathering/documenting pertinent data regarding the reason for call or patient request
  • Follow-up on labs/procedures as directed by provider
  • Actively engage in clinic communication, huddles or other activities
  • Clean, prepare, organize and re-stock exam rooms
  • Flexibility with assignments
  • Assist co-workers as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Follow all Allina and business unit policies including but not limited to: Code of Conduct, Respectful Workplace, HIPAA

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN Program

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Experience working with electronic medical records program strongly preferred
  • Will consider new grads

Skills
  • Ability to:
  • Utilize customer service skills in order to positively impact the experience of care for our patients, external customers and internal service partners
  • Respond to various patient needs
  • Communicate and work within a team environment effectively
  • Perform vital signs, documentation, infection control, medication administration and emergency procedures (IE: CPR)
  • Maintain good organization, problem solving and judgment
  • Follow all procedures and protocols for assigned work area
  • Keyboard and navigate within an electronic medical record work environment


Licensure/Certifications

  • Current MN LPN licensure required
  • BLS Certification within 30 days of hire

Work Schedule

  • Casual position - no guaranteed number of hours.
  • Weekday evening extended hours and weekend shifts filled on a voluntary/rotational basis.
  • Not eligible for benefits
  • Union contract position
