Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care to patients and families within the framework of the nursing process and within their licensed scope of practice
  • Works in collaboration with other health care team members under the direction and leadership of the Registered Nurse
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice of the LPN
  • Participates with other health care providers in the development and modification of the plan of care
  • Clearly documents pertinent data including observations, interventions and teaching
  • Implements interventions that are delegated ordered or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider
  • Provides education and healthcare information to families and patients using established Allina and NUMC materials
  • Provides pre-established discharge instructions as directed by RN
  • Administers medications
  • Collaborates and communicates with patients, families, co-workers and other departments in the conduct of nursing practice
  • Partners with others to effect change and generate positive outcomes for the patient, family and co-workers
  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures
  • Works in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to provide optimum patient care

Education

  • Must be a graduate of all Board of Nursing approved nursing education programs. (Current to 12/21/2015)
  • In addition new hires hired after 1/1/2016 Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing

Work Schedule

  • 0.6 FTE, 48 hours every two week pay period
  • Day/Eve shifts
  • Every other weekend
  • Benefit Eligible
  • AFSCME Contract
