  • Develops overall work schedules to assure that the clinic is staffed appropriately to support patient care delivery in both Family Practice and Specialty departments
  • Oversees the Managed Care function
  • Assures an orderly placement of patient appointments with specialist within insurance parameters
  • Participates in implementation and measures best practices throughout the Continuous Clinical Improvement Care teams
  • Ensures systems are in place for risk management purposes
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and data collection process
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Identify and conduct technical training sessions for clinical support staff and orientation for new employees to ensure competency
  • Actively leads team through change
  • Ongoing collaboration with site and regional leadership team
  • Works closely with the education, quality, pharmacy and risk departments
  • Coordinating the Joint Commission or other accrediting bodies regulations as it applies to the Clinic function


  • Registered nurse
  • MN nursing license is mandatory



  • 3 to 5 years of clinical related nursing experience, preferred ambulatory care/clinic experience
  • 1 year specialty care when applicable

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, exempt
  • Typically Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • Shifts may flex occasionally to accommodate patient care during clinic hours of operation and meeting attendance (including on and off-site leadership meetings).
  • No weekends
  • Benefit eligible
  • Non-contract

Location/Community Information

The city of Northfield is situated along the banks of the Cannon River, 45 minutes south of the Twin Cities. Northfield offers residents the pleasing combination of proximity to a metropolitan area and a quiet, small town setting. Northfield is the home of St. Olaf and Carleton Colleges and boasts of the place where the Jesse James Gang was defeated in 1876, an event celebrated annually after Labor Day. Education is one of the main industries and the public school system has been recognized as one of the 100 best by Money Magazine. The community provides a wide range of seasonal activities from golf, tennis, biking and fishing to snowmobiling and cross country skiing. Northfield also offers a variety of cultural opportunities including gallery shows, plays, and music and dance concerts. The historic downtown, restored to recall the 19th century, showcases several dining, boutique, antique and gift shops.
