Owatonna Hospital, located south of the Twin Cities, offers inpatient and outpatient orthopedic, general, urology, plastic, ENT and ophthalmologic surgical services; inpatient mental health; birthing center; emergency medicine; and rehabilitation services through Courage Kenny Rehabilitation InstituteTM. With 331 employees, 163 physicians and 43 staffed beds, Owatonna Hospital serves approximately 42,000 inpatients and outpatients annually. The hospital is connected to Mayo Clinic Health System Owatonna and Koda Living Community, an 80-bed long- and short-term care facility.

  • Assessments - Collects, prioritizes, and synthesizes comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • New graduate hires must have graduated from a nursing program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (part of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

  • New graduate hires must have graduated from an accredited nursing program which is inclusive of a clinical rotation in an acute care facility

Qualification/Skills

  • Current RN licensure in the State of Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support (per American Heart Association guidelines) within 90 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Per American Heart Association guidelines) within 6 months of Hire

Work Schedule

  • 24 hours/week
  • 12 hour day/night shifts
  • Every 3rd weekend rotation
  • The Med/Surg unit at Owatonna Hospital is a combined unit with Special Care Unit(SCU). The SCU has an eICU, utilizing electronic monitoring via Avera eCARE. There are a total of 25 patient beds with a capacity of 6 SCU patients. We have dedicated Hospitalist coverage 24 hours a day. Primary patient populations include Pneumonia, Sepsis, COPD, Diabetes, General Surgery, Orthopedic surgery and Substance Abuse Acute care. There are is variety of patient ages from infant to geriatric.
