River Falls Area Hospital (RFAH) is located in western Wisconsin, just 30 minutes east of St. Paul, Minn., and is part of a shared medical campus that provides easy access to hospital services, an Allina Health primary care clinic, specialty clinics, a long-term care facility and a wellness and fitness center. With 270 employees, more than 174 affiliated physicians and 25 staffed beds, RFAH provides a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services, as well as surgical, cardiovascular, cancer treatment and rehabilitation services to approximately 28,000 patients each year.

  • Performs imaging duties associated with the radiology department, including general radiographic and CT studies
  • Ensures compliance with patient care
  • Quality standards as they relate to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly
  • Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in hospital wide performance improvement activities
  • Picking the proper patient in Epic and completing the proper account information/registration
  • Verify correct patient and exam to be performed
  • Order appropriate labs for each patient
  • Accomplish safe and appropriate delivery of care
  • Assure patient attire is appropriate for exam/maintain patient dignity
  • Explains exams to patient, answers all questions and responds to educational needs
  • Obtain and document appropriate information and consent forms
  • Prepare room with necessary equipment and supplies to perform procedure, such as linen, contrast, barium, order copies
  • Perform procedure using specific imaging protocol
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to modify/adjust procedure as necessary
  • Ensure patients physical and psychological needs are met, including age specific needs, cultural diversity, and lifestyle preferences
  • Uphold patients right to privacy and confidentiality
  • Communicate effectively and professionally
  • Provide education and/or materials to patient as appropriate
  • Utilize appropriate techniques and patient positioning with a resultant retake percentage of less than 6%


  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology school
  • Must be registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and maintain 24 CEUs every 2 years



  • Experience with other imaging modalities preferred
  • Experience in basic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures preferred


  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Using knowledge and skill to maintain precision and appropriate care for patients of varying abilities
  • Frequently working alone with multiple tasks, patients (difficult or trauma patients)
  • Ability to work, rotating call including holidays; sometimes up all night and then required to work a regular shift


  • Current ARRT License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Licensed Radiographer for the State of WI

Work Schedule

  • Overnight, Weekend Position
  • Friday, 11pm-7am
  • Saturday, 7pm-7am
  • Sunday, 7pm-7am
  • Holidays as they coincide with work schedule
