Responsibilities

Req ID: 51473

Allina Health System is currently seeking a Family Medicine Program Director for United Family Medicine Residency Program (UFMRP) in St. Paul, Minnesota.

United Family Medicine Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), as well as the host of our family medicine residency. As an FQHC, the clinic provides on-site dental care, integrated behavioral health, optometry, podiatry, and has two satellite clinics. The residency program is sponsored by Allina Health and United Hospital, which is a non-profit, regional healthcare system with 12 hospitals and 65 clinics.

The UFMRP is seeking a qualified candidate to lead the family medicine residency program, replacing our current program director, who has been in the position for the history of the residency program. This is a planned leadership transition that would begin in June 2020.

The program opened in 1993 as an Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited family medicine residency. As a highly competitive 7-7-7 program, we have maintained a 100% board pass rate with our 22 graduating classes. We have a stable, diverse faculty of 15, with very rare turnover, including an internal medicine geriatrician and a behavioral scientist. Our residency program is known for strong connections to the local community, primarily through resident-led community oriented primary care projects. We offer CenteringPregnancy group prenatal care and provide prenatal care at a high-risk teen clinic. We offer on-site OB ultrasound and are expanding our point-of-care ultrasound curriculum. We have taken an active role in our local response to the opioid crisis.

The clinic is located in the West Seventh Street neighborhood of St. Paul, the oldest neighborhood in the city. Our patient population is quite ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. The population includes sizable Latino, East African, and South East Asian immigrant populations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated leader, with a passion for Family Medicine, to share in the continued development of our residency program. The ideal candidate will have an interest in practicing and teaching full spectrum family medicine with obstetrics.
