United Hospital, located in downtown St. Paul, Minn., is the largest hospital in the Twin Cities east metro area, providing innovative services and programs, such as the Nasseff Heart Center, United Heart; Vascular Clinic and Vascular Center; neuroscience care through the John Nasseff Neuroscience Institute for the treatment of brain aneurisms, Bentson Family Foundation Neurological Intensive Care Unit, Brain Tumor Center and the Nasseff Neuroscience Center; as well as psychiatry, womens health, surgical, rehabilitation and emergency services. With 2,949 employees, more than 1,000 physicians and 546 licensed beds, United Hospital provides a full range of health care services to 200,000 inpatients and outpatients each year.

  • Communicates in a respectful and caring manner by listening, accepting diversity and individuality
  • Manages technical and support systems with unit personnel and interdepartmental hospital services to facilitate communication and access to pertinent data and/or supplies needed for patient care
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary health care team members in facilitating ex-change of information needed to secure patient services or plan/intervene for patient care within ANW and with other appropriate health care providers
  • Actively participates and supports unit based quality management plan
  • Participates in learning and other opportunities for developing and maintaining competence
  • Works as a member of the health care team to create a cohesive and respectful environment which supports patient care through delegated and independent functions
  • Uses human and material resources in a cost-effective manner to facilitate patients expected length of stay
  • Demonstrates understanding of their role in developing and maintaining an environment that is safe for patients, visitors and employees

Education

  • Education or Degree - High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of accredited HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) course, Allina formal HUC course, or HUC experience required.

Work Schedule

  • 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
  • Day/Evening shifts, various start times
  • Mix of 8 hr shifts (6:30 am - 3 pm) and 12 hr shifts (8 am - 8 pm)
  • Every third weekend rotation
  • Benefit eligible
  • Non-contract position
