St. Francis Regional Medical Center, located in Shakopee, Minn., provides an array of patient care services, including The Family Birth Place, Breast Center, Cancer Center, pediatric care, rehabilitation and sports medicine, as well as a range of health education and support groups. With 798 employees, 459 physicians and 86 staffed beds, St. Francis provides a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to more than 115,000 patients each year on a collaborative medical campus with more than 30 other providers. This unique structure enables St. Francis to combine the caring and compassion of a community hospital with the modern medical technology, specialties and services found in the metro area.   • Demonstrates respect of the patient’s dignity, confidentiality, and privacy needs
  • Advocates for the patient and family to support patient/family rights and needs
  • Demonstrates a customer service approach in care and interactions with others
  • Communicates supply/equipment needed to ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available
  • Supplies and services are accurately documented in patient record to ensure accurate charging
  • Demonstrates careful use of supplies and equipment
  • Identifies opportunities for cost efficiencies
  • Takes initiative in identification of unit needs
  • Dependable and punctual, arriving promptly for work
  • Assists in maintaining a clean environment by cleaning equipment and instruments
  • Light department cleaning and upkeep

  • Completes yearly fire and safety
  • Completes yearly infection control
  • Maintains current CMA certification
  • Maintains CPR certification
  • Assists new co-workers in orientation and adapting to work environment

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude during times of change
  • Works to meet established department goals and objectives


  • High school graduate
  • Successful completion of Certified Medical Assistant course



  • 1 year current Certified Medical Assistant in clinical/Urgent Care setting required.

Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
  • Day shift - some variation in start times.
  • Monday through Friday
  • No weekends
  • Benefit eligible
  • SEIU L113 contract position

The City of Shakopee is located in the southwest corner of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, 23 miles from Minneapolis, on the Minnesota River.
