Responsibilities

  • Utilizes evidence-based interventions and treatments specific to the diagnosis/patient condition, as appropriate
  • Evaluates the patient’s/family’s understanding of and response to the treatment
  • Documents revisions in diagnoses, outcomes and the plan of care according to documentation guidelines
  • Documentation reflects current patient assessment, intervention and evaluation
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill with all equipment used in the department

Education

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school for Respiratory Therapy and is a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • A thorough understanding of the cardiopulmonary system and its relationship to other physical and physiologic systems
  • A thorough understanding of cardiopulmonary care polices, procedures, terminology, equipment, principles, and techniques
  • Good physical health to meet the physical demands which may include lifting and/or moving patients and equipment

Licensure/Certification

  • Minnesota State Licensure (Minnesota Board of Medical Practice). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Work Schedule
