St. Francis Regional Medical Center, located in Shakopee, Minn., provides an array of patient care services, including The Family Birth Place, Breast Center, Cancer Center, pediatric care, rehabilitation and sports medicine, as well as a range of health education and support groups. With 798 employees, 459 physicians and 86 staffed beds, St. Francis provides a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to more than 115,000 patients each year on a collaborative medical campus with more than 30 other providers.   • Accurately schedules Diagnostic and Cardiopulmonary services cases, procedures, and resource commitments in a timely manner
  • Performs clerical duties in an efficient manner according to policies and procedures and as observed by supervisors, colleagues and physicians
  • Accurately communicates information in a timely manner. Greet patients, identifies self and is respectful on the phone, in person and via email
  • Greets patients and directs them to the waiting area
  • Appropriately communicates Patient Prep and Instructions for Exams to patients and clinics
  • Performs data entry for scheduling, completes worksheets, consent forms and reporting documents as necessary
  • Performs film room duties in efficient manner
  • Secures all information necessary for the release of imaging studies to the customer
  • Uses good communication skills with patients, families, and other hospital personnel following the Standards of Behavior
  • Works efficiently with others to increase department productivity
  • Completes tasks independently with minimal supervision
  • Scheduling area and waiting rooms are kept clean
  • Procedures for maintenance service issues are followed
  • Follows hospital, radiation safety and infection control policies
  • Monitors Physician Orders to ensure accurately scheduled and uploaded in Excellian
  • Monitors scheduled appointments to ensure interpreters are booked appropriately
  • Restocks forms and office supplies as needed and is a good steward of supplies
  • All mandatory education is completed successfully, in a timely manner
  • Attendance is noted at staff meetings and mandatory hospital programs or minutes are reviewed as appropriate
  • Expands base of knowledge
  • Knowledgeable of emergency codes and procedures
  • Protects patient privacy/rights as observed by supervisor, colleagues, and patient
  • Keeps work area orderly to facilitate a safe, effective work environment
  • Points out safety concerns to the appropriate level
  • Advocates for the patient, family, colleagues, and self to support their rights, needs and safety


  • High School Diploma



  • Radiant Experience required
  • CPT Coding experience required
  • Prior Authorization or Financial Clearance work strongly preferred
  • 2 years experience in a health care setting
  • 1 year customer service experience required


  • Demonstrate competency with computer operation and software
  • Must be able to multitask and handle high volumes of scheduling calls as well as patient reception/check in
  • Must demonstrate excellent human relation and organizational skills
  • Strong medical terminology, knowledge of Radiology, Excellian and Radiant

Work Schedule

  • Currently Monday-Friday, day shift.
  • Subject to change based on department needs.
  • Scheduling in Diagnostic Services and a back-up for Sleep Center and PFT's.
