  • Timely reports (written and verbal)
  • Provide input about care requirements
  • Responsible to requests for services (evaluations and counseling)
  • Direct best approach to difficult patients or those in need of a behavioral plan
  • Develop and document a plan of care that addresses any issues
  • Psychological assessments/pre-surgical evaluations and communication of findings/interpretation to clinical care team(s)
  • Make appropriate referral for ongoing outpatient care as appropriate
  • Participate in staff education about psychological issues as requested
  • Participate in inpatient care rounds
  • Consult with staff to develop a plan of care for patients with acute psychological issues that impact care during the inpatient care
  • Consult with inpatient psychiatry service to expedite admissions as appropriate
  • Participate in staff and program meetings as requested by director
  • Develop and administer patient education
  • Adequate documentation representative of patient care services
  • Proper coding
  • Meets requirement for annual infection control and safety/security education
  • Protects patients, self and others from injury and accidents by maintaining a safe environment and using equipment properly
  • Follows safety/security procedures for emergency and non-emergency situations to protect patient, self and environment
  • Reports environmental risks or equipment malfunctions to supervisor
  • Participates in relevant professional training and development
  • Maintains highest standard of ethical and professional practice
  • Establishes and maintains professional with relevant community, state and national resources
  • Uses communication techniques that reflect attention to age specific needs of the patient/customers served
  • Develops implements and evaluates the plan of care based upon individual patient and family assessment including age specific needs
  • Analysis of data reflects attention to age specific variables (for those positions that may perform data retrieval and/or analysis)
  • Meets requirement for annual infection control and safety/security education
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary team in pain management

Education

  • Doctoral degree in psychology or closely related field from an accredited university

Qualification/Skills

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience treating patients in acute care clinical settings
  • Experience in Pain Management or Health Psychology

Skills

  • Ability to work closely with healthcare team including physicians, nurses and social workers
  • Develop treatment plan for short, episodic care
  • Referral sources for treatment of patients

Licensure/Certifications

  • State required

Work Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday Through Friday, during regular clinic hours.

This position will be located at the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute - St. Croix in beautiful Stillwater, MN

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute - St. Croix, part of Allina Health, is located in Stillwater, MN. The Institute uses a holistic approach, interweaving therapy, fitness, recreation, sports and family involvement to help adults and children reach their highest level of functional independence. Our therapy services for clients age birth to 8 years old are now located at the Early Childhood Family Center.
